Cat Show 7/10/20
Friday Cat Show. July 10, 2020
VG: So we entering the Summer of Our Discontent. Nobody is happy with anything. De-maskers are angry because there are too many masks. Over-maskers want to put masks on anything that moves. Anti-Trumpers blame him for the most sensible and reasonable of actions. Pro-Trumpers view anything he says or does as the Holy Grail. Will we ever get out of this mess?
HOBBS: Not sure. It is masquerade all over again. They've prevented people from celebrating Mardi Gras. They've attacked people for wearing "the wrong," politically incorrect masks at Halloween. So now we have The Masks striking back. Expect Olympics in mask-wearing. Expect new ad slogans like “keep your masks in the bank,” "gentlemen prefer masks," or “mask is the girl’s best friend.”
ALICE: You guys are upset because anyone, even the ones who do not wear masks, can see that Trump is losing. He is drenched in scandals; he fails at whatever he does, so you think that the sky is falling. Not really. It is simply the body politic had turned on its immune system and wants to get rid of this nasty little virus, called Trump.
HOBBS: Well, as we know from Covid, sometimes the immune system over-reacts and becomes self-destructive. Do we know how to do it right? When in the fight against Trump people bring in the worst of CIA anti-bodies, when they parade endless amount of scoundrels at various impeachment hearings, when they begin to trust their corporate press, their corporate bosses, and their corporate lies — that’s not a cure. That’s an affliction.
VG: Good point, Hobbs. I was just rereading Turgenev, who observed: “But in negation as in fire, there is a destructive force -- and how is one to confine this force within boundaries, how is one to point out just where it should stop, when that which it should destroy and that which it should spare are often melded and linked inseparably." In other words, “we saw the enemy, and he is us.”
ALICE: Nice try in hiding behind one of your quotations, Vladimir. Why don’t you admit that even CIA can be right sometimes, and that Russians are tinkering with something or other. As one of those CIA seers had once said, “they are almost genetically predisposed to do mischief, produce fake news, undermine, interfere, and even have bounty on the heads of US soldiers." And only Trump and the likes of you fail to see it. But, let’s for the argument sake, admit that Russians have nothing to do with anything. Who has unleashed racism, who helps the rich, who ignores the weak and undocumented? Who refuses to wear a mask, so that everyone can see how corrupt, nasty, and ugly he is?
HOBBS: There is always a mask under a mask, dear Alice. And it is a high time, we expose all the noble anti-Trump crusaders. If you start unmasking them, you’ll see their ties to corporations, their ties to DNC or Hillary, their ties to whole network of establishment outposts. The whole anti-Trump charade reminds me of this miserable experience of Seattle and their pathetic thug republic that they organized on the six blocks of the downtown area. Only fools can trust anything coming from Seattle! What kind of a place is it? It is gray like Alice’s fur. It has Seahawks, Falling Boeings, Virus Generated Microsoft, ridiculous over-priced, Ikea-decorated coffee shops, and the world most powerful corporation that makes billions every time someone says, “lockdown.” So this stupid CHAZ fiasco started with fireworks that would put 4th of July to shame. Mayor supporting them. Progressives applauding. BLM embracing. All sorts of lefties in their Che t-shorts salivating. Oh, barricades, oh, freedom, oh, a perfectly kosher set up where no pigs were allowed. And then what? Damn thing collapsed like a house of cards, taking some innocent lives with it, by the way.
VG: Interesting image. Remember how Trump wanted to interfere, and liberals were screaming that the Racist-in-Chief wants to strike at the noble experiment. He was smart enough to wait. Maybe that’s what he has to do. Just stay out of something until it collapses. Just imagine his debate with Joe Biden, when Trump says nothing. That would be a riot. Like a broken record, Joe would be bragging about his broken record.
ALICE: You are just afraid of an honest debate. Your Trump is only good at throwing some curve-balls and disorienting his opponents. But when it comes down to issues, he is lost. All progressive America is waiting for him to leave. None of us can breath while he is in the Oval Office. How much better it was when there was Clinton or Obama. These guys made America proud of itself. The whole world envied us. And now we are the laughing stock.
HOBBS: Well, the world envied Clinton having BJ in Oval Office, that’s what you want to say, Alice! You still don’t get it. All these current protests and all the anger, justified as it might be have long been corporatized. It is the virtue signaling at best, and doing the dirty job for the establishment at worst. Had economy been seriously questioned? Had the war machine been seriously challenged? Had the atmosphere of paranoia, fear and hatred been dispelled? We are getting more and more socially distanced from others and from ourselves. Masquerade continues. If that goes on, I’ll need to wear a mask of Alice soon, just to get by and impress some cool cats of female persuasion.
VG: Halloween revenge it is. Crooks wearing the masks of honest men. Vicious racists and haters paint their faces in a color of a victim. Elite boot-lickers – the masks of people’s champions. Here we have it: cultural appropriation at its worst. But nobody objects to it, because those who are supposed to object benefit from it. On that note, till next time, guys
